our physio class consists 70 people. 2 groups, the 3rd year AB PSYCH group, and the 2nd year BS PSYCH GROUP. napunta sa amin ang sleep topic. while the bs got the SEX topic. okay lang. although sex is more interesting, i think we've made sleep very very very interesting. kahit "sleep" ang topic. haha. labo.
and since the chapter on sleep was divided into 5 sub-chapters.. we were divided into 5 sub-groups narin. and i ended up with james, klau, lei, oli, gar, deni. :D and i'm so glad i ended up with them. hahaha. well. cno pa nga ba naman. hahahah. thanks guys. sobrang. GOOD JOB TAYO. AS IN SOBRANG GOOD JOB. proud ako sa sarili natin. *pats herself* i'm just glad that it's all over, and that i can get sleep now. woooohhh. shet toh. love it. i love it. i love you guys. promise. :)
our sub-group was assigned the topic on WHY WE SLEEP. and although the sub-chapter was full of terms and stuff. there are a few things i picked up from "my dissertation" HAHAHA.
1. LACK OF SLEEP causes degradation of cognitive functions.
this is so true. thus, the title of the blog. kanina i went to mass with deni, and sobrang. sabog. if you know the definition of sabog, THIS IS THE ETYMOLOGY OF SABOG. US. as in sobraaa.. like. in the middle of the mass, i asked deni. "how do you say hi to yourself?" (if you can show me how that is, great) sobrang sabog. i don't think my cognition is even functioning anymore.
2. and obviously. since i lack sleep, i've learned that you CANNOT REGAIN THE SLEEP THAT YOU'VE LOST. so. for every night that you fall short of the 8hour sleep, you lose brain cells. kahit you sleep for 12hours the next day, you'll never get back the lost brain cells. i want my brain cells. compared to an average atenean, i certainly lack brain cells. and i wouldn't want to lose more. so i will sleep now.
3. the more mental activity you have, the more of stage 4 or REM sleep you get. and this stage, or REM SLEEP is the most important stage of SLEEP. bakit? "hay nako. makinig ka nga sa reporting ng ibang groups! why we sleep lang naman kasi ang dissertation ko!" hahaha. and whatever that stage is, if it's really important, i guess we should all have at least 8hours of sleep to be able to reach that stage. :) and about mental activity, in cogpsych, i learned that the stuff you study are rehearsed in your brain while asleep. so. if you get more sleep, it will give you time to rehearse what you've learned. and rehearsal is important in processing information for storage in the long term memory. (SEE. I LEARN STUFF) so. we should engage in MORE MENTAL ACTIVITIES! :) to get more of REM sleep. if we don't get more of REM SLEEP. again. it's like lack of sleep. hahaha
4. i remember this very very clearly. bigger animals like lions get more sleep because they are not threatened by other animals. kaya. if you're small, you'll have to stay awake and be on the lookout for predators. for humans. since. we're. not really threatened by other animals. (like what?!?! diba. maybe from humans. i guess) i guess lang ha, we get lesser sleep than the lions, but more than the birds or something. ewan. pero. ewan. alam ko lang toh. hahaha
5. uy marami naman pala akong na learn from SLEEP! HAHAHA YOU GUYS KNOW THE CEREBRAL HEMISPHERES RIGHT? :D (left and right brain.) well. did you know that they take turns in sleeping? parang may shifT! HAHAHAH.
6. physical exercise, although no proof or evidences to support that hypothesis, is needed for our brain to function normally. :)
uy ang saya. yon lang naaalala ko. yun lang tlaga ang nag sink in sakin. yung mga lines ko. bwahahhahahaha. pero. it's so. fun. i learned at lot. and i wish i could upload the whole video. pero. it's 35 minutes long. imaginnne. hahaha. and the limit per group was 30 mins. and we needed around 40-45 minutes to present the whole thing, with prologue, video, ending and curtain call. :D HAHAHA

(FYI. our physio play was like ENCHANTED only baliktad. the modern-day guy got sucked in this storybook and met an elf named SLEEPY TIMEE, snow white, aurora and belle. :)

If you guys are wondering kung totoo ung subject na isinulat ko jan, yup, it's very real.
I really never liked beauty and the beast, little mermaid, and all those other disney films,
pero now, whenever i hear Snow White, i think of Lei, pag ka Mrs. Pots naman, i think of deni,
pag Belle or Beauty, i think of Klau, pag, pag Aurora/Sleeping beauty, i think of Oli,
and pag Dwarf/Elf siyempre kaw lang un Sleepy TIMEE.
Salamat sa lahat for their contributions. EVERYONE GAVE IT A 130%. BINIGAY NATIN LAHAT,
and we should be proud of what we've accomplished, i know i am :)
In a way, physio created for me an opportunity to meet new friends. Siguro, it was destined for me
to have you guys as group mates. Ang galing nga eh, you made it so easy for me to form a group kasi
nagkusa na kayong lumapit sakin. I really appreciated that. SOBRANG THANK YOU DOON. Sana when
we see each other in school or even outside, mag-hi parin tayo ha??? I really enjoyed working with you
guys. We're a perfect team, sa ibang team mainit ulo ng tao, pero tayo, kahit sobrang deds na at gutom,
smile parin and push, never tayo nag stop to complain. I love you guys.
I'm not the madrama type of guy, pero you guys are worth the drama. You guys never really showed me na
we were new friends, nagkakahiyaan, plastikan, etc, what you guys showed me was so genuine and so pure that
i thought for a while that matagal na tayong magkakakilala.
Thanks a lot guys. FOR THE MEMORIES, FRIENDSHIP, and the LOVE.
